I wouldn't recommend cloud atlas as, though it contains flashes of brilliance, it's extremely self-indulgent, overly reliant on its convoluted, gimmicky structure and not a patch on number9dream. I voted for the curious incident because, though it's a tad simplistic, it's a good concept that's worth reading, and because i haven't read the other one.
