as topic reads; iirc when signin up for bb around 8.25 months ago i remember reading a faq on their site that said something along the lines of them reserving the right to charge an addtional, i dunno was or 4 cent or 4.25 cent, per megabyte of data transfered once you go over the limit, and with a bill of 59.25 euro/month includin tax as it stands, i wouldn't really like to see that get any higher .25, in which case i'll ease up on the downloading until next .25, then again, they could of just said that to scare people and ensure they don't go downloading a few gigs of porn on a daily basis but either way if anyone has gone well above the limit could you plzzzzzzzz post the consequences here but i need to take a nap now and i'll check back in a few days or so plz reply thx bye

I'm also interested in a reply to this, i went over the cap for the first time last month, by around 2 - 3 gig...anyone ever been charged on IOL?

Why don't you phone them and ask?

2/3 gigs isn't a lot. If you were constantly doing it and only have a basic package you might be noticed more than if you were on a plus package.

Yeah phoe them up and basically ask to be charged for going over the CAP by bringing attention to yourself?!?!

Leave it be until you get the bill and if you get charged then ring them up, play dumb and have a chat/shouting match....simple!

from what i've heard, they seem to be lax regarding Caps. And a lot of people are constantly over the cap, but never charged.

BTW, since when has esat become BT? Went looking to check my cap, and found that i had to sign up again under BT.This would be a good reason to play dumb if asked.Just say you couldnt check.

I usually hit 20Gb and yes I'm on the plus package - I think EsatBT are reluctant to charge Plus accounts and give them a good bit of leeway.

If and when BT decide to actually enforce the cap policy you'll have no one to blame but yourself. We were all told up front about the policy regarding going over the cap. It may be an extortionate amount of money to charge but it's still written down in black and white for all to see.

If you use 40GB in half a month and are only paying for the basic package (was 8GB now 12GB), or even if you're on the plus package, then you deserve to get charged and I hope you do.

A little bit of lee way is nice and a couple of G won't really hurt anyone. But going triple the limit in half the month is just ridiculous.

    Its only tooo true.... :(

I have posted this many times myself.
I was charged €142 for breaking my cap on the normal IOLBB package. I complained about the bill but they did point out the thing in the contract about the cap @ 3cent. and i broke it by what? ... 8 gigs?

I have since moved to NTL. :P

Would more people like Tech Pete please post their horror stories as these type of threads only get replies from those who have got away from it and it gives a false impression!!!

well i wasnt charged :p and i'd eventually hit 70gb for april :D

i downloaded 52 gigs over the last 5 months and judging by the size of the bill they appear to have decided to charge for going over the cap, im still awaiting a breakdown of the bill to see what eactly there charging me for
