Just moved into an apt block in rochestown rd cork (ronayns ct) that doesn't seem to have any dishes about. So looks like the owners (castle estates) don't allow dishes. Was thinking about going ahead and ordering one but could be risky - hoping i won't have to go down the chorus line but looks like may have no other choice. If that does happen, was wondering if anyone can tell me the benefits of chorus analogue/digital over sky prices etc??

Price works out the same if you're willing to lose a lot of channels. Chorus still needs an MMDS grid antennae though, which is about the same size as a sky minidish, and are a lot uglier to be honest. Chorus only do analogue installs in certain areas now, mainly areas with cable or areas without good digital reception. It's handy that you don't need a phoneline though, like sky.

I'm pretty sure there's chorus digital cable in the douglas / rochestown area of Cork thesedays. I know i've certainly seen chorus digital boxes in cabled houses recently.

Also, they appear to using a very small white MMDS antenna on recent installs. It looks more like an old BSB Squarial (if you remember the 1980s failed UK satellite broadcaster)

I assume that the larger mesh / grid antennae are still used where higher gain is required.

I've also seen a tiny "horn" type antenna that looks a lot like this appearing around parts of Cork city. I assume it's MMDS as it's not 2-way.
