    Do you have a link?

Sorry I'm confused, how does it work with credit and line rental - sounds like pay as you go crossed with a bill phone?

    Looking at the site,
Pay As You Go: Up to Up to €80 Call Credit €329
    Pay Later €99

    Huh?

mmmm if this is true im gonna get one but it dont sound right? meteor wouldnt give a phone of this quality away for 20 a mounth x12 months...
    its240 euro.
mabye its a 3year contract to sign up for or sumtin

i was in carphone warehouse today asked the dude cause they had a sign up saying 6230 free with meteor.

he said its like this, all with the pay monthly package

Go for the 20 euro a month pack its 80 for the phone

    40 a month its 50

and 60 a month teh phone is completly free.

Im not sure how the package works but there is no line rental you just have to commit to use at least 20 euro a month etc and with that you get like 60min calls and free meteor to meteor txts, im not sure what happens to the 20 euro if its credit or it pays for the 60min, probably pays for the 60 min. Obviously 12 month contract. The meteor stores are doing the same thing but the phone is 100 im not sure how its cheaper in carephonewarehouse.

Now i could be wrong i let the dude waffle on about it so maby there is something im missing but if its only 80 euro im getting it cause i only use meteor for the free txts to other meteor numbers and i use 20 a month as it is just to get the free txts off them.

The 6230i is out soon it might be worth waiting either to get it or see what the deal is with the 6230 then.

    FM radio
    1.3 Megapixel Camera
    Infra-red
    Includes 32mb Memory Card

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,464 ✭✭✭Kristok

well other than the megapixal camera its the same then ?!? in that case i defo wont be bothered waiting.

    edit

just checked the nokia site and compared em, the 6230i has a better screen seems to be twice as many pixels. 1.3mega pixel camera and 32mb internal memory instead of 8 but it can only take mmc cards up to 512mb. Not sure if thats just all they say it supports but i want to get a 1gb card so would rather the regular one if the 6230i can only take 512.

Please tell me i'm wrong but I was told by a rep in the CPW that if you are already a prepay customer with Meteor then you cannot take up this deal and keep your number.

OK a way around it is to port over to O2 or Voda and then apply but that is hastle.

    Now that is cr*p.

    Cal.

that 40 u pay a month is that for the 200min or is it a commitment to spend another 40 at least on calls over the month. I rand up 1905 and the guy couldnt tell me either way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,566 ✭✭✭JTMan

The 40 is for the 200 mins ...
Some great deals on Meteor Bill phones at the moment.

I might wait to see what 3 offer in June before I switch to bill pay with Meteor.

Yep, that's true. It's because CPW have just started doing Meteor bill pay and they can't do all aspects yet.

The monthly commitment basically means you're committing to spending either 20, 40, or 60e on calls a month. So that's the minimum you pay each month. After you go over your commitment, you are charged 20c for calls and 9c for texts, except Meteor to Meteor which are free until the end of this year.

Because they are a different company of course!!! It's called competition.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,464 ✭✭✭Kristok

i know there a different company but usually resellers charge more not less but hey i dont care if i get the phone i want cheaper than straight from meteor im fine with that, might get it tomorrow.

a year, as far as I know?! That's the norm anyway... I never really thought about it, I was with vodafone for 6 years, and upgraded every year with them, I kept my bills down to about €50 this year, so they were saying I wasn't eligible for an upgrade.. so I moved, and the deal is pretty sweet too, I'll know more next month if they let you carry over minutes and stuff, never thought of asking those kinds of questions on the day!

...no carry over mins on meteor, usual contracts are for a year, ive been with them for 4 years now, coverage has def improved lately but its still not as good as the others but on the other hand ...they're cheaper than the rest

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,440 ✭✭✭Dizzyblabla

I don't think that it'll make much difference if they don't carry over anyway, I'm pretty sure I'll use them all up! ha ha!
even better, there's no coverage in the pub I go to, so I don't get to send drunken texts! horray!

Are you sure this is a 1.3 mega pixel camera on this phone.
    I read max resolution 640 x 480
That gives 0.3 megapixels doesn't it?

The 6230i also has USB plug and play, which would be very handy. The information about MMC card is support is questionable, as I have a 6230 with a 1GB card and works no problem.

Just to clarify, if your on the 20 tariff:
So if you were to not touch your phone for a month you pay 20 anyway.
But if you use it for during the month your first 20eu worth of calls are what you would have been budgeting for anyway, and you pay any extra on top of that.
Sorry if that's not clear just a little confused.

Wouldn't mind a better phone but the only way I've managed to drop my phone bill is to switch to prepaid. I'm with Meteor but know noone else on it!

i tried meteor shop in dun laoghaire. woman said its only from carphone warehouse and only on the €60/month bill.
