yeah i love them. fun to watch, not only the match but the players aswell! ;)
this year- went to a senior semi-final and the final
went to a junior semi-final and the final

i thought the senior final was brilliant!
belvo came out of nowhere to win it in the end! i mean this is the first gud team they've had in how long? so unexpected!!!
and the junior final was gud but i felt terenure were robbed of the win!!! they controlled most of the game!!
id like to point out do its funny how this year terenure had a new junior coach and they get to the finals whereas wit the old they nvr made the semis!!! he was badly needed!!!
does any1 no where gerrards are from? they go to the quater finals and got the name of giant killers after beating templeogue and terenure! i nvr heard of them b4!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 936 ✭✭✭marshmallow

was going for belvo so was quite pleased 'bout the double! :D
gerrard's are from bray. senior final was brilliant! junior final not so enjoyable- shudda been in landsdowne for more atmosphere.

Did u miss the other senior cup final belvo were involved in 2002 (that year won their JC)? how about the 2 semi's last yaer and year before?

they also had a deadly team in 1999 (won their JC also)but lost a game they were controlling completely to a feat of individual brillance by a 17 year old Shane Jennings.

    So, conclusion, long time coming.

OT, yeah saw both the matches. The SCF was a great game to watch, lots of skill and excitement. I couldn't really get a good view of the JCF but it appeared quite boring Was very tempted to watch the liverpool match in Kielys instead.....:-(. Terenure caused a few scares but it was obvious from the beginning who was going to win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 936 ✭✭✭marshmallow

yeah, in 2002 they got to the SCF and the same team won the JCF in 1999.

i went to the scf this year and it was a cracking match - then again that could have been the altitude and the vodka...
    but school's rugby is great.
can't wait for rugby to be played in Croker, its only down the road from my house, i'll be able to hear the anthems!!!

the matches are actually painfully ****. If you watch them on setanta anyway. Only good match was the final.

I went to a good few of them because my school was involved at both level (CBC Monkstown, we should have gone further in the JC). I watched every match on Setanta, it was mad seeing so many people you know on national TV.

It's the highest level of schools rugby in the world, or so I hear

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,252 ✭✭✭Funkstard

I was following Gerards 100% after my school lost. It wa absolutely great to see such a small rugby school go so far. The Terenure game was brilliant, they came out of nowhere

yeh they have sumthing like 400 pupils....and its mixed...and half again wud be 4th year plus(senior) so they managed to pick a team of players dat got far out of 100(assuming they all play rugby which dey prob dont!) so they more then likely only had 1 senior team!
    but there kicker was gud!

    no we don't

    800 senior, 200 junior.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 120 ✭✭rasherboy

theres like 150+ in a year! more then 1 thousand anyway! senior is about 1000, 6 years with about 150 pupils(mine has 162 roughly) pupils each(and some years have more so i jus averaging 1 thousand for the seniors!! i was never in the junior school my figure of 2000 was assuming they had the same number of pupils! how many are there realy in the the junior school?

  • 200 in the junior school. My year 5th, is the biggset, with 154, 4th year has about 120, so average is about140. 140*5= 700.

realy? mabey im thinking of their numbers in first year or something! because the years always get smaller as they go on!

All a bit off the topic of rugby and more maths but I am sure there are 6 years in Terenure ergo 140 * 6 = 840 - thanks to Plug and 6.1 maths.

i have a personal vandetta against this guy!! i hate him! i dropped a class just to escape him! and his crappy teaching

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,252 ✭✭✭Funkstard

CBC has like 600 altogether, so we have a pool of around 30-40 players from which to form a senior team. We had a senior 3rds this year (5th years who don't want to play serious) but no 2nds.

Well, actually we did for one game against Clongowes where we got hammered. It's that ****ing astroturf pitch they have, it's lethal
