Dell discount

    Dell employee purchase program

Most people go to www.dell.ie to buy stuff. If your company buys stuff from Dell you may be able to get stuff with a 7% discount.
Go to the Dell employee website at www.dell.ie/epp
You can browse thru and buy all the same stuff thats at www.dell.ie but notice all the prices are different i.e. they're 7% cheaper. I'm not sure how Dell check whether your allowed this discount ( the company i work for definately is. ) So if you're ordering stuff from Dell firstly check whether your company/college buys stuff from them - you may be allowed this discount.
I've just ordered that Zen Micro MP3 player for €185 - price on www.dell.ie is €199

Question: How do I receive the discount?
Answer: When ordering through the EPP web site the prices are inclusive/net of the 7% discount. When ordering by phone a 7% discount is applied to the total of your order. Please ensure you quote your company name and reference number when you place your order in order to qualify for the EPP discount.

I didn't order by phone - I guess if you do they ask for your company code or whatever - when i ordered online it didn't at any stage ask me for my company name or any discount code or anything - I'm not sure how they actually check that you are allowed this discount - my order has gone thru though - i've got my order number etc.

When you order through the EPP version of the site you must use your company/college E-Mail address, as far as i know this is the only conformation method they use.

I think this means any UCD student can use this if they give their UCD e-mail address.....UMMMM :)

Dell must first agree that your company is eligible. This agreement will probably have to be initiated by your internal HR / IT purchasing department.

In recognition of your company's relationship with Dell, the Employee Purchase Program (EPP) offers you the opportunity to purchase Dell consumer products at highly preferential discounts off Dell's already very competitive prices. All orders correctly placed over the Internet and via the EPP Telephone Sales Team on 1850 40 70 70 , will receive 7% discount .(excluding delivery & VAT)

When placing an order you should give your company's name and EPP reference number to validate your eligibility to receive the EPP discount.

Dell builds every system to order and generally delivers between 7 and 10 working days from the date your order is credit cleared. Please note that using this program is at your own discretion with no involvement of your company. Please access the Frequently Asked Questions document for further information and also note the contact details for the EPP specific Sales, Customer Care, Technical Support and Escalations teams.

Seems you do need some clarification that your company supports the program. An EPP ref number? Why is it so difficult?

Does anyone know of any companies that are entitled to this discount??
    Are students entitled to it??

It appears to be only a new initiative in Ireland - so I'd guess not many companies have signed up yet.

Best ask the admin staff at your college if they have signed up (my guess is no though - for a number of reasons).

A few points on my order
Someone was asking what color the Zen Micra was - it arrived today and as expected it was silver - they don't offer the other colors.

    1. When ordering I put in my company name - I didn't have to submit any epp reference number
    2. I used my company email address but you can use any
    3. I used my company mailing address for delivery - but only because this was convenient - it looks like you can use any delivery address

This leads on to the question :
Whats stopping anyone ordering stuff thru the epp program and simply supplying the name of a company they know buy stuff from Dell ?

Two different things entirely. The outlet store has limited stock and sells items from cancelled orders etc. These PC's are already made.

The EPP program is the same as buying through the normal Dell site except with a flat percentage discount on the price (if your company subscribes to the program).
