How To Know if a PC has a USB Socket??

    Apologies for the basic question...!

    I have a printer which on the back has a socket marked "parallel", and I have the appropriate cable for plugging into this.

    I've seen another printer for sale which needs a "USB" cable. AFAIK, these are two different types of cables.

    So how do I know if my pc has a USB socket? Can anyone tell me what the USB socket should look like? It's a recently bought Dell, so I'd guess it should have a USB socket...

    theres some images of them,

    any pc after built 98-99 should definitely have one

    flat socket 3/4 inch nby 1/4 inch, roughly

    any recent dell usually has 4 at the abck and 2 at the front

    yes it should have a usb port.
    They look like a small rectangle hole, normaly 2 of them stuck together.
    look at the back of the computer, you shouldnt have a problem seening them.
