The O'Callaghan brothers (Niall & Dave) split it for 3k each.

    Dealer from merrion 3rd,
    Eoin O'Dea 4th
Kev Maloney (5th or 7th - not sure)
    Tom Hanlon 6th,
Enliglish guy with betfair cap (5th or 7th - not sure)
I was knocked out in 8th,
    James 9th
    Graham Thew 10th

Yeh it seemed like a pretty good tournament. A friend of mine was knocked out in 15th. Pretty good considering hes only being playing a few months and won the ticket in a freeroll.

had a hilarious time avoiding the bubble for nearly an hour with no more than 3k, managed to survive 4 all-ins (3 splits between 3 players!) before my fate finally caught up with me and I bubbled anyway... someone made a good point - why dont they run the same comp every week, it's a nice size buy-in/field

    Hey Graham,
That hour had a huge effect on my game and ultimately sealed my fate. I have never seen somebody survive with such crap cards for so long. I think you were down to 1k on the bubble and I had about 13K (not in to bad shape). Eoin O'Dea was bossing the table a bit with his big stack and nobody could call him. I raised to 4k with AQ and Eoin re-raised to put me all-in. - I simply cannot call in that spot and suffer the indignity of going out on the bubble with you so shortstacked. If you had more chips I would have called. For the final table I had 5k left, drew seat 3 and the blinds are 1500 3000 so there was no way back for me bar a miracle.

Its a great tournament with plenty of play and a good concentration of good players - I definitely think it would be popular if it was on every week or fortnight.

    hey pokertroll
Aye, when your stack was as small as mine there's no pressure at all... tell me, who are the O'Callaghan bros, were either on our table?

Niall was seated to my left and to Eoin's right - shaved head and cap. Dave his younger brother was in the same seat on table 2.
Both very good players (Dave came second in the EPT Barcelona event).
Their father John ain't bad either - He was at the final table in the Irish Open event you won in citywest.

Very weak play Mr McMahon! A man of your calibre should be playing for first not worrying about the bubble! I imagine Eoin sensed your weakness and used it well. No guts no glory ;) . Anyway what's wrong with the bubble? It's my favourite place lately.

I agree - I felt like a complete pussy and its not my usual style at all but I think Eoin played it very well as an all-in would have made barely a dint in his stack. I'm 250 Euro better off for it but hardly a contender if I make those kind of lay-downs. I just didn't want to make a Mike Lacey of the whole thing!

Bubbling hardens your soul. Once you have bubbled you are never afraid again! You playing the €50 tonight ?

I like it - I'm glad I didn't 'do a lacey' in the tournament last night.
