Leinster have signed tight head prop Will Green from Wasps. Why? I thought Ireland was trying to develop young players especially in key positions like tight head?

That story from the Beeb - note the bit about McCormack

    Green leaving Wasps for Leinster

Green is relishing his move across the Irish Sea
Leinster have signed England and Wasps forward Will Green on a two-year deal from next season.
The 31-year-old tight-head prop is the longest-serving player in the Wasps squad and moves after 13 years of service with the English champions.

Green has collected four England caps and a Heineken Cup winner's medal.

"I'm very excited about joining such a top-class outfit as Leinster. They are a top European side with many great players," said Green.

"I'm looking forward to experiencing a different way of doing things at one of the big Irish province teams.

"I hope I can get over there, get my head down and work hard and win silverware."

Leinster chief executive Mick Dawson is delighted to bring Green to Ireland.

"Will is a top-quality English forward and he has played an integral part in Wasps' recent success," he said.

"I am confident that he will give added value to our squad for the seasons to come."

Green's arrival could stall Ronan McCormack's move from Ulster to Leinster.

The Leinster pack is in a dire state, so it was the right move for them. Developing players is a great idea, but that is up to the parent body (IRFU) to sort out IMO. Leinsters priority has to be more short term, and if that means bringing in overseas players for positions where we are obviously deficient, then so be it.
