Systems and Networks Administrator Wanted

    Small Innovative Company based in Ranelagh requires a part time Systems /Network Administrator to work on a consultative basis

    Description:
    Windows 2K Based Domain with two servers
    Dell1300 and Dell400sc Server,
    Approx 20 Client machines, mixture of Dell desktops and laptops
    CRM software: Goldmine
    Backup: Veritas Backup Exec 8
    VPN clients logging from remote locations, currently using pptp


    Duties would include:
    maintain the network,
    implementing a backup strategy and full disaster recovery plan using Backup Exec. Run test restores, etc..
    maintaining logon/logoff scripts through active directory, applying group policy
    virus/malware/spyware definitions update
    general sys admin duties, installing software, etc

    Estimate that would take approx 1/2 to 1 day per week.

    Since this is a tender will accept proposals of hourly rates

    Probably because it's such a small role, would be tough to be a Sys Admin one day a week if you have a job elsewhere.

    Are there any out of hours (i.e. when the person isn't on the premises) support requirements? That is, if said admin was in his full-time job, and a server fell over, what kind of response would be expected?

    Big problem you might have is the Version of Backup exec you have is no longer supported. I would not like to be supporting someone using software for which there is no escalation point.
