Just wondering since I'm using Portable Firefox are there any other programs out there optimised for a USB key? Anyone got any recommendations?

That's a great idea. Does anyone know if you can get a 'portable' version of skype? That would be incredible useful.

re: your original question. think portable version of 'Thunderbird' exists too...

I am going to assume that you mean for Windows, you could always put the GnuWin32 tools on a USB key
