****ing useless sons of inbred self-centred money grabbing ***** are ticketmaster. Hope he puts on another show. I know Pav is on in the point on Thursday and Bruce is on Tuesday. Does anyone know if the Wednesday is free?

Can they not do a proper queue system? as in the person who goes to the site at 7.15 will be served before someone who goes at 7.30 and so on?

Utter b*ws of the highest order.

Website died on its a*se bang on 9 and the by the time I got a connection on the phones "There are no tickets available for this selection" for every f*ckin selection.

How the f*ck is possible to sell that number of tickets in 9 minutes. It takes 5mins to go through puttin all your card details in etc alone.

Thinking about getting tickets for Bryan Adams and hiding in the bogs till the boss turns up.

Not a happy camper at all.

Think the point is free on Weds. and Bruce doesn't have another gig until the27th in London I think.

Am so annoyed I was 10th in queue in and they only sold to two people and then they were sold out - 4 tickets!!!!

Does anyone know is each ticket outlet allocated a certain amount or do they all have access to the same amt. of tickets it is whichever has more terminals etc. will sell more?

Boycott this buyer!!! Do not buy his overpriced tickets.........

I think it's a free for all on the Ticketmaster site.
    How many seats 6,000?
So that's around (let's assume it took 8 minutes to sell them all) 750 tickets a minute. Max 4 tickets per person but let's say average 3 p.p.
    So that's about 250 people a minute.
I presume it's now a "wait for the 2nd show" announcment.
Anybody get tickets on the phone?

All that does is make it very expensive for somebody who wants/needs the tix and who has to buy from these guys.

Smallest venue on the tour, solo and acoustic, def think it could be one to remember though.

    Very true.

Where are all these guys/groups etc going to play when the
Point gets closed for refurb next year?

    RDS most likely

It might be the smallest venue on the tour but you could hardly call the Point small and stop buying into all this solo/acoustic crap, you want to see Bruce Springsteen rock out with a band, thats what his best at.

He played the RDS to "rock out the place with his band" and he certainly did. However as per standard senor Springsteen he usually does a quiter, introspective acoustic based album after a major stadium rock based one. Ie

Born Run - Darkness on the Edge of Town - The River - Nebraska - Born in the USA - Tunnel of Love - Human Touch - Lucky Town - The Ghost of Tom Joad - The Rising - Devils and Dust

Depends on how you like your Springsteen, don't think many people could argue that he's a master at rockin out big stadiums. Personally my favourite albums are Nebraska, Tunnel of Love and The Ghost of Tom Joad which is a bit of contenious choice but I love his songwriting more than anything else.

    9 minutes?

These tickets must have been on sale before this morning. For his last RDS gig Ticketmaster were selling the tickets two days in advance of the supposed selling date - I know because I rang them up on the off-chance and they were only too happy to sell them to me.

    ****.

What really p1ssed me off was that when I tried to book over the internet, I got my 4 seats allocated but because ticketmaster couldn't process my payment within the 5 minutes the tickets were reserved (kept refreshing the attempt to process payment screen every 10 seconds), I was eventually redirected back to the inital booking page and by then the tickets were gone. The 5 minutes to finish your purchase should only apply if the delay is due to your being slow about the process, not when the delay is caused by bottlenecks at ticketmaster's end.

I don't think banning this type of activity would do any good. Why make it illegal? It's good business if you ask me. Saying that though, it's not something I would do.

What's needed is to put a stop to the monopoly that is ticketmaster. They are constantly given contracts for these major gigs yet they don't have a clue how to distribute tickets. Also, limiting all people to buying a max. of 2 tickets per person (or per credit card) would help in some way. The 6 ticket per person limit for U2 was an absolute disgrace. Another practice that needs to stop is the 'mass reservation' of tickets by staff, prior to the tickets officially going on sale. A 'friend' of mine told me what went on prior to the U2 tickets going on sale officially. I'm sure you can work it out! Of course that could be bullsh*t, but it makes you think.

What makes it even more annoying is that most of the ppl going to this gig are going to hate it.

I remember coming out of Joad gig at the Point in '96 (?) and hearing quite a few disappointed casual fans. The D&D performance is not going to be anything like his stadium gigs - it's really only suited to the dedicated fans.

a lot of tickets were pre allocated to tour groups, corporates and the like. The amount of ticket agencies on the chimpernet advertising tickets for the gig is quite amazing, i'd be interested to know just how many tickets were actually available through ticketmaster to start with.

I have a friend in the tourist office in town and they sold 1 ticket through their the ticketmaster connection machine thingy at 9am this morning before the were all gone.

    It's a total shambles.

Ticketmaster says on their site that the tickets sold out in two minutes.

    Yeah right...

a lot of tickets were pre allocated to tour groups, corporates and the like

This is going to turn out the way of the football matches and the rip off prices the travel agencies charge.
    Example
When the MU Irish supporters club used to fly to matches, a mate would get Ryanair flight, coach to the Hotel, ticket to the match and coach home for 199 Euro.
Stephens Green travel (one that I knew of, there are others) used the same flight as the supporters club, a different Hotel but the match tickets were beside the supporters club tickets and transfers for the bargain price of 299 Euro.
100 Euro mark up, how can they substantiate this difference?
The FAI and IRFU have the same problems and the concerts are going the same way.
Corporate events will kill the chance of Joe Public getting tickets in the future.

Refuse to pay the huge prices demanded. These companies will get the message and will stop block buying so many.....

for the last 3 hourse some strange stuff has been happening on this page.

every 5 mins or so they release more tickets but you have to buy them over the phone so i called them and they said they aint got anymore.

    my theory

the lads who organise the site are today going through the rejected cc nd putting the tickets back online for someone in particular to buy.

call me sad...but this is real strange and i have seen it happen before!!

Doubt there will be another gig for springsteen because it will be the same thing all over again (in fact probably worse) he could sell out 30+ of these gigs in ireland alone.
