Just bought a kit for a model plane (not remote control) and dont want to make a balls of it so i was wondering if there is any websites on model making..e.g How not to get the glue all over the place and advice on painting(3 or 4 different colours) think it might come in handy.

    Welcome to the modelling community,
These kind of forums are your best bet for advice but to answer your question I dont know of any sites with tips off hand but just do a google on modelling tips or something.

    Stts,

I build scale model cars so I might be able to answer some of your questions for you. I am not sure of any specific websites try finescalemodeler.com I think! Its a magazine that can be bought in Easons but they have a forum on their website.

When I can get into photobucket I will post some pics.

for a start , what type of glue(s) do you intend on using ?

i build 1.24 scale trucks , and i use humbrol poly glue - has a kind of needle on it so very direct on where the glue's going .

for the clear plastic window's , liquid poly is brilliant .

all that can be got in a decent place (if your in dublin , marks models)

for painting , airbrushing is the best method , but will set you back a few quid - but well worth it .
or you could use halfords spray cans , masking off the areas very carefully .

    have fun ,

    john
