Go on, recommend the best one for me, by way of price and functions. :)

I got the welltech one from Lidl last time they were there. No problems with it at all. Useful if receiving TV doesn't have a scart as if has RF output too.

I got the Argos one about 3-4 years ago, one of the best gadgets I ever bought.

There have got some bad rep due to colour/quality, but I have found that if you tweak the contrast/volume on the source (e.g. Sky box), you will get a near perfect picture on the receiving end.

Argos digisender has worked perfectly for me for the last couple of years, only downside is when the microwave is on.

Yep, same here. I get banding on the receiver's TV when the Microwave is on. Works perfectly otherwise, though...

Aldi's one last time 'round - shortly after Xmas was cheapest at €39.99 ( Tevion brand ). Again like Lidl's has RF out as well as Scart. There's usually 'bout a 6 month rotation on these offers. Have a Welltech from Lidl also that's grand...(€50).

You should be able to change the channel it is broadcasting on. I had the same problem with my DigiSender - there were four small switches on the back of both the sender and receiver, so I just fiddled with them until the interference was gone.

do these work with NTL Digital box?

If it has a SCART output (though I believe the newer Digisenders can handle other connectors - I'm sure someone will confirm if this is the case).

Is there such a thing as a digisender that can transmit an RGB picture? Or one that will transmit the widescreen switching signal? I've two widescreen sets, one upstairs and one down, and I'd like the upstairs one to also switch automatically when a widescreen channel is on rather than having to do it manually. Or can that not be done?

Afraid not all current "digisenders" (Think the term is rather misleading since it suggests the signal is transmitted digitally) use composite video transmitted via an Analouge FM signal with two audio subcarriers (for stereo)

The Lidl one is not bad but the hinge on the recieve aerial is a bit flimsy and the RF out is fixed at Channel 36 Useless in Belfast (With Ch5 on 37) or Dublin (with TV3 on Ch 35) also I wish they used a high power IR LED for the remote at the TX end rather than that fiddly (and unsightly) bit of wire

Still what can one expect for 30 quid

    Folks,

Rather than wait for the Aldi or Lidl ones to come around again, where is can you pick up a good quality digisender? The Argos ones seem a little pricey.

Is there anything worthwhile available at Currys/Dixons, Maplin etc. or online?

    Thanks,
    MtM

I also purchased the Tevion brand from Aldi in Clonmel. Have had no problems with it.

I have a Philips one, got it in argos about a year or so ago. Works really well, again except when the microwave is on. Has two inputs too so the dvd and sat can be plugged in, flick a switch bingo! :D

€49.99 for the welltech one in Lidl about two years ago ... best investment I ever made.

Anyone know if you can buy a receiver only for them when they sell them in Lidl? Wouldn't mind getting another for the kitchen

i just moved into a new house which has concrete floors and all internal walls are block

needless to say the lidl digisender barely works. cant use it to receive upstairs due to the reinforced concrete floors and it only works from sitting room to kitchen when the fecking doors are open

as soon as i get sky installed ( still waiting on a fone line :-( ) i may sell the damn thing, unless i find another use for it

I'm also in a block-build ... with hollowcore concrete floors, and I've had no problems, have you tried manipulating the aerial, or is it a complete no-go for you?

    Hi,
I have Sky Digital at home, you know with the satellite etc.
So is a Digisender what I should be after to watch Sky Digital on a second TV, and if so, is there nay update on a quality Digisender?

PS. I know I have to watch the same Chanel on both TV's.
