i got some on capel street
cant remember the name of the shop
    go to goldenpages.ie
    search dublin for foam.

you might have to order it in tho.
cheap enough... and they'll cut it to size
    for you

hi, this is what i did use,
it's a composite made from loads of bits stuck together.
is it for the padded rail i assume? but it cut very easily
with a bread knife and didnt fall apart... pick up the spray
adhesive they have to glue it to the wood for the rail
...and they sell cheap vinyl there too,
think it was 30 euro for the black vinyl.

and they sell the 1/4 inch headliner foam for under the beize/felt
also... p.s. what did you use for the material.. and where did you get it?

I bought some baize like material from capel upholsters...10euro a yeard...Looks good. and durable..It has a "Nap"..

And the composite is ok for rail???And they have a headliner foam too..
Brilliant.. I was about to order some expensive stuff from Zhivago...

Thanks I will let u know how I get on..Have u finished making yours??

good stuff, no idea what a Nap is!!!???

composite was perfect for the rail.
i finished mine 2 weeks ago, it's not exactly how
i wanted it but had to compromise... the girlfriend
wanted a large dining table and we didn't have room
for both so i built it in such a way that it has a flip top
dining table on one side and poker on the other. it's rectangular
though and not oval shaped... still though, good to have it and
the first night i'd had the lads over i was up 200 quid which paid
for maybe half the table! let me know how you get on with it and
post a pic when you're done.... ill get one up too.
