Hi, I am doing a working holiday in Ireland. I already have my work visa, and am planning on bringing about 1300 Euros with me, plus my credit card which has a balance of about 875 Euros. Do you think this would be ok for living until I have a job in Ireland (hopefully very soon after I get there)?

    Hey,

Well rent will most likely cost around the 350 region for the first month so thats a roof over your head and then you can live off cheap food and stay away from overpriced clubs. So to answer your question that should be fine for a month or maybe two.

    Mark.

aye that should be more than enough money, don't forget about the extra month deposit on rent though, maybe even try and have a few places to look at before you arrive? that way you won't waste alot of time/money in a hostel

Ireland is expensive, but you can live very cheaply for a while if needs be (ie dont eat out!)

Oh yeah I forgot about the deposit!

If you want to look early try www.daft.ie just to get an idea of how much it is going to cost.

Or possibly stay in a cheap hostel until you get fixed up with work and feel you're ready to splash out on rent and a deposit - should be plenty of money depending on how you manage it (and of course how soon you get a job).
