 Just wanted to say that komplett's delivery service is dreadful from my experiences anyway! The 3 times i ordered off them it took well over a week to arrive, I have ordered from the US much quicker. I know delivery is only 10euro but you expect some kind of service. Whats all your opinions? Site says 3-4days delivery more like 10days.

I'd have to say that komplett don't have a "delivery service". Blame the post.

Komplett uses GLS Ireland for the cheaper delivery option.
GLS' service leaves a lot to be desired.
Initially (the first time I ordered with Komplett) GLS couldn't find my house, or made little or no attempt to do so, and I had to go to their depot to pick my stuff up.
Although now (that they know where I live) I've no problems with them, they deliver on time.
But they have delivered to the house several times at this stage, and I;ve hounded them on the phone on an occassion or two also ;)
There is a DHL option too with komplett.

I've often gotten deliveries next day from them, as long as you order before 11am the previous day. the longest wait ive ever had from komplett was about 3 days and they always arrive between 10 - 11.30 am

However Komplett has one very bad returns department

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,989 ✭✭✭✭Giblet

If you order say, on friday, your package won't be shipped until Monday. So add 4 days onto this. It is 10 euro, but if you want it next day, go with DHL and order early on a Monday.

For €10 I dont think you can expect speedy delivery. Personally, I would only get stuff from Komplett if I am in no rush to get them. Otherwise, I'd just go to some other site. It maybe dearer but I know I'll get it the next day :)

For €10 i didnt expect speedy delivery, but i did, however, expect to have the package delivered to me, not my neighbour who was living in the house next door all of 2hours! That right GLS, €900 worth of components, leave them with a neighbour i dont know. Joke of a company.

So much for the shouting down the phone tactic!

You're better off being firm but polite, and always get their name, plus if they aren't able to help you ask to speak to the manager/supervisor/someone in charge.

Well GLS is a joke. Period. They delivered once to me and gave me a huge package to give to one of the people who lived in the apartment. What kind of company does that? Thing is, at least with Komplett it cost €10. If you buy some online stores from the UK who uses ParcelForce, you get GLS at a higher price which is even more crap!
I'd recommend if you are going to buy something thats going to cost a lot, go with overclock.co.uk. I get my stuff from them. Delivery is around £20 and I get it the next day. They use Nightlink which is great imo.

sat fortnight [bank holiday weekend], ordered some hw and GLS delivery.

shipped on the tuesday, arrived friday to work. Perfect condition, all working.

no issues with komplett or delivery here.

    Hi,

Just my 2 cents. I've order from Komplett many times to both business addresses and my home address. No problems yet, touch wood! ;)

i've had the same experience GLS are ars*holes, unbelievably slow and error prone.

so the question is - who is to blame GLS or komplett? i think both as komplett are fully aware of delivery problems with GLS and must be getting a good deal from them so i blame komplett for maintaining them as a distributor.

as for ordering €900 worth of equipment and selecting a €10 delivery option - cop on!

Never had a problem with Komplett..
But to be honest, most delivery companies in this country are a joke.

I've never had a problem with GLS deliveries here in Donegal. GLS deliveries are handled by DEF freight. It may be a good idea to have the goods delivered to your work address?

I very much like that they leave stuff with neighbours. I know all my neighbours and it has served me well.

The neighbour has to sign saying they received the stuff anyway, so GLS can point the finger squarely at them if your stuff goes missing.

TBH, I've had my troubles with GLS, but when I look back, I have to say a tenner is for nothing, and it's always gotten here (though at the time I remember being livid....though patience while waiting for new and exciting things to arrive isn't my strong point)

Hell...Amazon.co.uk charge more for feckin' dvd's and books sometimes! and that's just through the regular post.

T'was an RMA, i originally chose DHL. Komplett are cheap skates when it comes to RMA's.

With all the new housing estates going up, they should have the cop on not to leave valuable goods with neighbours. How are they to know if i get on with or even know my neighbours, when the house is built a month or so??

As for them signing, thats a joke aswel, sure u could scribble down "mickey mouse" and they'd still give you the package - try it!

Komplett are quick and efficent, they put together and get the orders ship very quickly, its GLS that i think are a joke. DHL's prices are extortionate, although they do get it to u very quickly.

I agree with whoever said above that if at all possible, order with overclock.co.uk, as i have used them a couple of times now and delivery has been next day.

Fair point. I must admit I hadn't considered that. However, they keep record of which house it was delivered to. I reckon the vast majority of people in Ireland are honest joe's. GLS mustn't get stung with stolen stuff very often, or they'd stop doing it.

I still (very much) like that they do it, though I can appreciate that not everybody does.

Made an order last week for a monitor off komplett and i went for the gls option. All went well and it was delivered in 4 days(as advertised).

Made another order from komplett this morning for about a grands worth of stuff and went for the dhl option which was only €40!(I think this is because there I didnt order any heavy items). So it should be here tomorow and it looks like it will according to the tracking so far. I let you know how i get on ;)

Always best to get it delivered to a work address if you work in a big enough company, so they can't use the "no answer" excuse. Waiting on my stuff ordered last Thursday. Still loads of time, but the package tracker is useless until they scan it in in Dublin.

I am totally fed up of people moaning about Komplett and GLS. Its so dirt cheap. And you can blame komplett for picking GLS but you can not blame Komplett for not doing there very best to do what they can to help speed things up.

Sure they are not the most punctual logistics serivice but when u can get the entire making of a complete pc deivered for only 30euro it is a bargain!! u get what u pay for. thats it

yeah Gls is ****e that puts me off ordering from konplett i mean i got a digital camera, flash dongle, dvd rom from www.pixmania.com for €13 DHL delivery got everything 24hrs later now that service! but komplett sites chrages more like €30 for DHL delivery and there stuf comes from the continent like pixmania does also how can they justify €30 DHL delivery for a stick of ram?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 950 ✭✭✭jessy

Ordered loads of times from komplett and used Gls every time except one (dhl). GLS say's 3-4 days it usually arrives in 5 working days dhl took 4 day which I was not impressed with considering i paid them €40, over all I’m happy enough with GLS service.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 799 ✭✭✭MR DAZ

My last three deliveries from komplett were using GLS and I have to say that I had not problems wot so ever, all the stuff arrived in 3-4 days, cant really complain about that.

The only thing that pisses me off is their webpage........Its dreadful, you recieve a tracking number... which never seems to make it on to their system

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 298 ✭✭CSSource God

Nice to see the amount of interest and feedback about GLS. Its just that im fuming, make big orders for myself and pals and it doesnt turn up then I have everyone asking me Where's me stuff?.. I know they're cheap but I should get the order within a week for a change. Obviously different parts of the country have better service but im obviously unhappy with the service.

HI, I've ordered twice of Komplett and been very impresses with their service. As you've all said above, GLS leave a lot to be desired. I've used my work address as delivery location and this seems to be the best way to go....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,098 ✭✭✭aaf

I've ordered from Komplett, JES and Overclockers about 10 times or more in the last year, all supposed to be delivered by GLS. Only 3 packages have been delivered. I've never once had a phone call from GLS or a driver and only once has a driver decided to leave an "Attempted Delivery" slip in the letterbox. All the other times, I've had to go over to their Depot in Ballycoolin, Blanchardstown and collect myself knowing that my packages are there due to the online tracking system! Joke of a company. I once saw one of packages had been sitting in their warehouse for 2 weeks!! Could people please add their local depot to their post so we can see which Depots are good or bad. Waiting for 3 packages to be delivered now. Stuff sent out from Overclockers on 4th which hasn't arrived and waiting for other bits and pieces from JES (sent out last thur) and Komplett (sent out last Fri). Need this stuff for the weekend. Overclockers stuff should be here by now. The others, I'll give a bit more time.

    Rant over

Used DHL the last time i ordered from them, took a day to process the order and then took less than 24 hours for my stuff to leave amsterdam and get to my house, was very impressed to day the least. €25 for DHL versus €10 for GLS makes me think i made the right choice
