    I'm going to dive into Perl. Need info on this, i.e. what do you think of it, where I should best use it, good IDE(if any), good web tutorials, good books, etc etc... Cheers all! cool.gif

    IDE - whatever your fave text editor is smile.gif Textpad or EditPlus arent bad for Windows.

    Books : The Perl Cookbook and the "camel book" are both excellent.

    Seconds on the Camel Book, should get you through no problem.
    It's also good to keep an eye on www.perl.com and www.perlmonks.com

    Get the Visual Quickstart Perl & CGI book. It's quite a good cheap (<£20) and dirty intro into Perl-CGI programming.

    Get Linux, it comes with C, C++, Perl, awk,
    sed... the list goes on.

    Yep workin on getting Linux. Visual Quickstart Perl is compiler and stuff yeah?

    JEXT. It's free, open source and has Perl support (making it easier to write).
