Right...meant to post this sooner but only getting round to it know - myself and my girlfriend were driving a few weeks back some road between carlow/kilkenny...we were trying to get back to Dublin...kept missing the turn off so we decided to turn down a small country road - this was night-time btw - we were a minute or so on this road and then I saw this bit of what loked like mist bout 2 foot in length(it was not misty out in any way) - I asked my girlfriend if she saw it but she didnt - it had moved at a fairly rapid rate about 45 degrees from left to right and disappeared..I ignored it - bout 2 mins later on same strech of road just as i had stopped the car to take a right turn it happened again - we BOTH saw it this time and it moved in the exact same way - IT WAS NOT SMOKE OR STEAM OR MIST - it seemed merky? like a spiders web if that makes sense and again quite rapidly came and went - we were both freaked cos we had seen a programme on telly a while back of these people taking photos and video footage of a haunted house in the states where the figure appeared at the window?? anyone see it? the guy taking the pictures had this mist type substance float quickly behind him and it was caught on video camers?? anyone see it? what we saw was like that but not quite as thick - anyone have any ideas??

I could suggest half a dozen scientiffic solutions that could maybe fit the situation. Some believers would maintain that a mist of that sort is a partially formed spirit, but you'd be better hearing from someone else, maybe KatieK if she's around.

The reason you are linking this "mist" to the paranormal is because you DID see that show. Had you not seen the show, then you would have said "jasus, that was a quare looking fog", and carried on your way. Its more a case of over-active imagination imo.

any idea where abouts this happened? was it near carlow or kilkenny? I 'm on the carlow end of that stretch y'see

unfortunately i cant re-call where we were - its between carlow/kilkenny ..I know there was a big dip in the road if thats anyhelp? but it was a small road off the main road, that would lead to the main road back towards dublin - even if we hadnt had seen that programme we would have though it very strange BECAUSE IT WASNT FOG/MIST/SMOKE

we you driving alongside the barrow river by any chance? theres some weird localised mists that come off that.

damn, i'd love to know where you witnessed this cus its bound to be not very far away from me. theres a bit of a dip in the road at powerstown landfill but i cant think of anyroad other than the carlow/kilkenny road that would get you to dublin - any side roads would work their way back into carlow first.

anyway - let me know if you can remember anything else about the location

pwd ur sooo funny...thats right u know im making it up cos u were there werent u!!!! fuc*in tosser..just get out of my face before i track ur mother down and rape her..u wud probably get off on that though....seriously guys i know it was not steam/smoke/mist it was too merky/dense but vanished too quickly..i know it was a right turn after the main turn off to dubin..like i said it was night time so...not sure if i was near a river but i really dont think so..

interestingly enough, you would have passed paulstown on the way from kilkenny to carlow (though its on the main road) and theres some haunted gates there that wont shut. I think elizabeth cope has her art studio in the place.

for the record - i dont doubt you did see something you cant explain.
