Fallen From Grace

Twisted and knarled
Like an old tree,
My Life so far
And what has yet to be.

Brought screaming and bloodened
Into this world.
Born a bastard,
My truth never unfurled.

Lie awake at night,
Sleepwalk through each day.
Little do they know
My dues have well been paid.

I stumble down my path
Out of harms reach,
They try and they try
To me their gospel preach.

Never a follower
Never the crew
I tried to lead
But along came too few.

Fallen from grace,
It is here that I lie.
Alone I was born.
Alone I will die.
