I was bidding on this, a nice Ibanez Universe, which would've cost me about €750 shipped, only to get ****ed over at the last second by some prat.

And a new one would cost me €2050 from thomann! And even then it wouldn't have such swanky cool colours, and that damned funky electric pink lined case! Argh.

    Oh well.

    Edit for good measure:

**** **** **** **** bollocks, I could've added an Ibanez link to my sig.

    Yep.

Although I'm currently looking at alternate places to obtain a nice Universe. It's only $1570 here, which is quite excellent new. There's talk of the Universe being discontinued though, so I do kinda want to snap one up.

If you really want to win on Ebay without paying an arm and a leg, you have to wait till the last minute. If there's no other bidders, put on the minimum bid (otherwise the seller can still retract the auction, which is not uncommon when no one looks interested). But otherwise, just bide your time until there's 1 or 2 minutes left. At that point the best strategy is to put a single bid of the most you are possibly willing to pay. The higher your bid seems, the less likely anyone else is to try bidding against it again if their first bid falls short. :)

I just used Buy it now, and still got my bass for a grand and a half less than what it'd be here.
