    No, it defaults to Google Ireland on mine, but if you click the second link to the right of the search box, the first drop down box selects the languages.

    It looks like a cyrillic language (eg. Russian). But I don't speak/read any of them so for all I know it could just be corruption.

    Check your browser to see what language encoding you have set and also what region you have your machine set to.

    Just click the link Caixa mentions and change the display language from русском to English, or use www.google.ie
