Two Loveable Hairy Terriers Seek a Family...

I hope it's ok to post this here?

First of all, these guys are NOT in any immediate danger, but I have four dogs in a rented house and realise that's not very safe for the dogs in the longer term, and also, frankly, there is not enough of me to go around in terms of giving them the love and attention they need. I also have to seperate them from my other two dogs because the female bullies them.

They are male and female, rescued dogs (at seperate times) who are absolutely devoted to each other. I meant to find homes for them but they became so attached to each other I couldn't bear to seperate them.

Both are black, but that is where the similarity ends. The female is bigger than the male, she looks like a Tibetan terrier cross of some kind, he is tiny and wirey haired.

He is a bolshey little fellow with 'tude who gets on well with all people and dogs, she is much quieter and loves people, but doesn't get on well with other dogs at all.

They are happy, well fed and cared for, but they could have SO much more life with a whole family.

They are both very pretty, smart and endearing guys.

I would be happy to let a person get to know them and take their time deciding whether they were right. I would also take them back without question if it didn't work out.

    Near Dublin and Naas.

Did you get the dogs from a rescue or rescue them yourself?
If you got them from a rescue you need to contact them and they may be able to help.

    Are they neutered/spayed/vaccinated?

    Try posting here http://board.irishanimals.ie/index.php?showforum=50

Include pictures if you can and as much detail about the dogs if you can. If they are neutered/spayed, fully vaxed and wormed already they have a beeter chance of rehoming. Not many are willing to take two dogs on at the same time so they may need to be split unless you feel they should stay together, in which case it will take longer to rehome them.

I rescued them myself (Isn't it highly unlikely that any reputable rescue would facillitate a lone person in having 4 dogs in a rented house?).

In addition, any reputable rescue is far too busy trying to find homes for the dogs they have themselves, and the dogs on death row in the pounds, without the extra burden of seeking an "improved lifestyle" for two dogs who are perfectly safe...for now.

As I said above, I only kept them instead of rehoming them as individuals in the first place BECAUSE they became so devoted.

There is no great hurry to rehome them, my priority is to find the RIGHT home for these two great little characters, to enhance and be appreciated in, not a fast home. There is no hurry, I can wait until the right people come along.

In fact two small dogs are something of an advantage to someone who cannot be at home all day.

These two are perfectly happy left alone together, they are just thrilled to bits when they have loads of human company that I just cannot provide, and it seems a shame to deny them.

I am afraid I have had too many negative experiences of the board you suggest (In the light of which comment you may prefer to edit out the link?) and, I am afraid, will not be posting them there.

They are spayed and neutered, wormed and fit as fleas, though I am sure they need booster vaccinations.

They would be best in a home with a walled garden, both love to wander, not far, but they are terriers, and for them, the best part of the fun is wrecking your head when you try to get them back!
