Not necessarily looking for the cheapest.

Where is the best place to pick one up. Any recommendations of model?
Ideally looking for one with two handsets.

Panasonic KX-TCD580EM Digital Cordless Phone with Answer Machine
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002GD4S2/qid=1112962391/sr=8-2/ref=pd_ka_1/026-5474357-7461207

    or
    Panasonic KX-TCD560EM DECT Cordless telephone
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002ATF0Y/ref=pd_sim_ce_dp_1/026-5474357-7461207

depending on if you need an answering machine or not.

This is an outstanding phone, I work from home and I've tried a few DECT phones and this is the first one I'm truly happy with.

    It has lots of features:
    - The charger and base station are separate (allowing you to put them in different places).
    - Large easy to read multi line screen with backlight.
    - 200 name and number
    - Caller id
    - Speaker phone
    - Voice dialing
    - Mute button
    - Headset compatible.

The last two where the most important points for me. I use the mute button all the time while in meetings, the stupid old Eircom DECT phone I use to have played music when you put it on hold, therefore no good for meetings.

And the heaset compaility is great, I got a Plantronics headset, with it I can walk around the house, cooking or in the garden while talking to people, it is fantastic.

The phone is nice, it is much smaller then the ugly old Eircom phones, it is more like the size of the mobile, but a little larger, a good mix between not being too big or too small.

Got a nice one in PowerCity.

Wireless with SMS Texting (made for Eircom network written on box)

Big screen. 50 euros for single handset and receiver.

Same one was 'on sale' for 95 in 3G.

It is probably the Eircom (Siemens) 5012 which I use to have or the 5010. Both are crap, the battery dies after just one year, the sound doesn't come anywhere near the Pany and it lacks features. Avoid.

Pay the extra for the Pany it is worth every cent.

I bought it for a present - cannot remember brand - It wasnt the Siemens.
A Silver long phone with huge display - selectable Red or Green backlight.
It was some non-major non-memorable brand. Battery life is brilliant (many days) and uses standard AAA recharable battery should you ever need to replace them - sound is just ok. Features -? well its a land line sms phone - what more do you want it to do.
