    Check it out here.

Notice how the blue is the only cheap one. It may be a display model or something similar. Still though, worth saving nearly half of what it would usually cost probably

    All gone :-(
Although I will admit that I didn't really want it and would have used it mostly as a 5G usb stick!

What I really want is a 340 that can handle audible files natively.

I rang them up to ask about delivery to Ireland, basically they were just selling off the last of the blue ones as the new colours had arrived in.

did they say they don't deliver to Ireland when you rang them? How much did they say delivery to Ireland would be?

if you get one from www.mx2.co.uk, it will cost about €246

They didn't give me a price as they were all gone and I wasn't interested in one at their full price, they do deliver to Ireland, give them a ring on +44 129 354 43555
They answered straight away with no silly menus - gotta give them credit for that !

I am holding off at the moment because I just know that about two seconds after I get a 340, a new iriver will arrive with all the good bits and audible support!

I am listening to the DaVinci code at the moment, very eerie with the pope stuff going on and all the coverage of the behind the scenes rituals, Angels and Demon is going to be freaky on a level with watching the Omen and then looking up the book of revelations in the back of religeon class all those yers ago!

What do you mean audible support? Is that a format of music or a license or something?

You could always go for this instead.

As far as I know, iRiver don't have anything approaching this year. A new unit will probably be announced in November, released in Jan, the usual.

http://www.audible.com sell audiobooks in a protected format, it is possible to convert them to mp3 using Goldwave but it is a bit of a pain and you generally need to split the mp3 file into little bits in order to avoid having to fast forward through 6 hours of previously heard material. There has been a lot of discussion on mystic river about this, everyone seems to think that is is on its way. Most of the creatives, rios and ipod alikes have support for this format, works out at about 6 megs per hour of audio, no good for tunes but fine for naration. My old Rio 900 is gettinga bit battered at this stage so I am on the look out for a replacement.

if you have a creative labs player you can bookmark the mp3

Dont you have to fork out an extra €35 for a 3pin charger? you only get a USB cable in the package.......... Total crap.

Eh... you can charge it off your USB port afaik.
