Ripping DVDs to Hard Drive

I am looking for a bit of advice on how best to rip two discs to the Hard drive at the same time.
    I have an Nec 2500 DVD-RW and a Samsung DVD-Rom
The DVD-rom is great at reading discs while the Nec is very poor.
I usually try to read 2 discs at the same time.
Both drives are on the same IDE cable while my 2 Hard drives are on the other IDE cable.
    I use DVD Decryptor .
The Nec drive is very sensitive to errors and usually slows the reading of a dvd-r down.
Is this the correct way to setup the system or should I change it .

Do a goggle for Smartripper.Well im sure you have your optical drives set to secondary master and slave and hardrives are set to primary master and other hardrive as a slave. Both are ok to run on single ide as far as i know

Won't you need a LOT of ram and a very strong processor to do that?

I suppose it depends on how fast the dvd-rom/writer can read the media.

I have 1 Gb of Ram
The reading of the discs doent seem to be processor intensive, around 30%.
The drives can read a clean disc at around 6-7x .
However when I read from both discs at the same time it drops to a max of 5x per drive.
