    Hi All

need help quick i have a chance to get the following

    Intel Pentium 4 3.4GHz / 1MB Cache / 800MHz FSB / Socket 478

the reason for the socket 478 and not 775 is my motherboard is socket 478 and cash at present means i cant go for a new mo/bo.

my mother board has a FSB of 533MHz -

Quection - will the 800 FSB 3.4GHz p4 work and if so will it be much slower on my S478 mother board.

motherboard is an MSI 845PE board with suport for 2 gb of ddr 333 memory.

    thanks in advance

If your mobo only supports 533 then forget about the Prescott. Check the manufacturers web site for a compatability list.
