Protection question

    Greetings,

Q: Suppose I protect a creature with Spectral Shield which protects it from further spells and abilities.

Does the creature still benefits from enchantments? (like Crusade)

    Thanks in advance,

    Gil

The thing about protection is that it will protect the creature from an enchantment if the enchantment uses the word "target". Cards like crusade dont affect just one target creature, it actually affects the entire board nonspecifically. If the enchantment said "target creature gets +1/+1" then it wouldnt work, but crusade doesnt target anything, so the shielded creature will still get the power/toughness bonus.

but what about this, my friend thinks that a green equipped creature can be blocked by a creature with protection from artifacts and only the creatures original damage gets dealt, this is wrong right?

Yes, that is wrong. It isnt the artifact itself that is doing the damage, it is boosting the green creature. the source is still the green creature and not the artifact, so protection wont change anything
