Printer Won't Print

My brother has a Epson Stylus C62 parallel port printer running on a geriatric pc running windows 95. Somehow I managed to get the thing to work a couple of years ago but now it's stopped working again. I've reinstalled it but an error message says that it is out of paper when it isn't. I've also tried changing the spool settings but nothing.

Any suggestions (apart from him buying a new pc!) ? :)

check the parallel cable isn't loose - one of the pins is responsible for the carrying the paper out signal or it could be a sensor on the printer

Thanks for your reply! I took off the cable and put it back on again but it made no difference.

    Sounds like a hardware problem.

Have you tried bouncing it down a stairs a few times?
    Also try coloured paper

Make sure you don't have it installed twice in the control panel and that there are no conflicts..... Start->settings->control panel->system

    Good luck.

Edit: Ignore worded. Just in case you are tempted to try his suggestions.

It's definitely only installed once. I'll try the conflicts angle. Thanks for replying!

Check that you have calibrated your printer after the new cartridge was put in.Also check your printer hasnt realised its got a new on it and may still have black turned off. Try Control panel-Printers(Your Printer)-Colour managment.

Other problem Try Control panel-Printers(Your Printer)-Ports and make sure its bein recognized. Otherwise try uninstalling and reinstalling then?
