Installshield won't start untill...

    I'm trying to load from my cd-rom drive but the installshield won't start untill I shut down my computer or log off the computer but and that stage windows is shutting down and its too late.
    Anyone know what could be causing this I've tried all the trouble shooting and trying to load the programs in a round about way but still no joy and I've tried a couple of differant disks and the cd drive is working properly.

    ok, little info needed, what os are you using, what programs have you running in the back ground etc...

    If its nt,xp,2000 i had a similar problem. A few hours of digging around and the problem was that I had turned of Event Logger in control panel.

    I often get this message when I log off " Moffice.exe" must end task. but that never effected the loading before.:confused
