Over the coming 72 hours us Irish will at last be treated to a
magnificant spectacle of natures awesome and amazingly
    beautiful power.

From now an extremely unstable airflow will set in as a very deep and complex
low pressure system approaches from the Northwest.

Overnight an intense wrap round feature (also known as a comma low)
similar in style to a polar low will approach northern areas. This will inhibit
massive cloud features and a wicked combination of atmoshpheric
ingredients and will result in some starkling echoes on the radar
during tonight. Due to cooling cloud tops and the influx of
polar air around the feature the precipitation will readily turn to
heavy hail and snow and may leave accumulations of snow
for a short period. Imbedded thunderstorms are likely due to the
sheer intensity of the precipitation. A cold front will follow this
feature with more heavy precipitation with hail sleet and agian the
    chance of snow.

True polar air will follow after the low pressure center passes across
Britain and the true northerly airflow becomes established. Extremely
cold artic conditions will surge south will heavy and widespread wintry
showers. Friday will be an exceptionally cold day for early to mid April
and would be a treat to cold weather fans in January.
Temperatures on Friday will rise to no more than 4-6c and it will
feel very cold in a strong and bitter northerly gale.

It will soon turn much milder towards the weekend as the Atlantic
    approaches...

So for the next 2-3 days winter will arrive with vengeance heavy squalls
of rain, hail sleet and snow will be widespread with accumulations
of snow likely in heavy precipitation for a short time.

Friday will be an exceptional day and the coldest of this
short spell with snow showers likely across the region!

Is that what's causing the insane weather so at the moment - tiz really sunny and hot one minute, and the next second it's lashing / hailing like we're in Siberia or something
