Help with Mac Office 2004

    Anybody familiar with the above version of word?

    My reference tools do not seem to be working ie dictionary and thesaurus. Because of this the spellchecker is not working.
    If I deliberately type a word incorrectly it does not get underlined.
    I have gone to preferences and 'Check spelling as you type' is ticked.If I click on Dictionaries it shows up English(UK).
    This has happened to me before and I tried it a couple of weeks later when I didn't need it and it worked ok. I can't remember changing anything in between.
    I have tried to look up Mactopia but you would need to be a lawyer to follow their 'help' menu.

    Anybody any suggestions?

    I've the same issue.

    My resolution is as follows, select all text (apple + a) then determine the language as you normally do, then unselect it and it will work properly. tools, spell check etc.

    Until next time...

    I don't know why the template refuses to acknowledge permanently my language choice
