I think he is right to get out of Leinster, I don' thtink that the players were giving their all to him. Its a shame really because after speaking to him when he was appointed he was very excited about the job.

Spoke to a few Munster fans yesterday and they are not too happy about his return - "what more can he offer?"

What about the new Leinster coach. I'd personally like to see Putty (Kevin Putt) come back from the Sharks. Who knows.

Ah!!!!! Wanted someone else. But not annoyed that much he did good in Munster and the fans love him but i think its a step to the right rather than forward.Do ya reckon he could convince Contepomi to deffect as well (wish full thinking eh)

I know a lot of people think it's a step backwards but I'm okay about it. I don't think AG brought the team on very much from when Kidney left anyway. How many new players did he bring through the ranks (Only Leamy?) and how many flops did he buy in (Jones Hughes, Storey x 2, Bowman and of course Huppert). Even Cullen may not have been the right guy in the right place. With the honourable exception of Payne, his purchases have been poor. And he seems to have alienated a few players too like Wally and Staunton.

Nice as a guy as AG might be, he has effectively failed to progress the team either as a unit or IMO as a rugby team. 13 of the 22 who played in the 2000 final are stils on active duty for Munster. It's time to build a new team and given his record I reckon Kidney is capable of doing it again.

Just like the honesty in which he shafts a number of the fringe players by not renewing their contracts and then fucks off. Have lost a lot of respect for kidney i have to say...

Same here Ruggie. Can't believe he's leaving after getting rid of Jennings and players like Norton, McCullen and Treston rumoured to be leaving as well. The best thing to come of this is hopefully some of those players might do a u-turn. Unlikely but here's hoping.

So who's next for Leinster - Bradley maybe?

I don't think he got rid of jennings. Jennings had an excellent offer and took it. I think most people in his position would have. What do you want to do - play for a mediocre European team that looks like its going nowhere fast or an excellent top of the table English side, with 2 European championships?

    Easy choice.

after being looked over for Munster he may choose to remain with Connaught.
Putt is being mentioned. I reckon Clive Woodward might be looking for a job come the autumn?

beat me to it....i reckon sur clive would be great but:

    we can't afford him

he would want complete control of the team and tell the IRFU to **** off

He would want to bring in a heap of foreigners

he has had a run in with Irish Bigotry at London Irish. Not sure he would even know where to begin with our old farts

Good god no.....his man management of the the 2nd stringers was a ****ing joke...they had started calling themseleves the Women's Auxiliary Balloon Corps ( Blackadder goes Forth) as half injured/dead internationals would get the nod over in form fully fit players.

Main reaon Simon Keogh and Andy Dunne left

he's been sacked recently so is free....., i think a seven's player would be excellent for the team, up the tempo, also then i'd have the honour of actually being coached in 1st and 2nd year by the Leinster Coach!

Yes, yes and I'd have the honour of being coached by him and being his assistant coach a few years later.

  • So it's agreed, Kevin Putt for Leinster!

Has he not just signed with Southhampton FC for 2 years starting August 1st?

  • thought i heard something somewhere of him coaching a premiership team too.

John Kirwan's contract as Italy coach has been "rescinded". He'd be a decent coach to get.
