Won an online race !

Woohoo.
Finally managed to win an online race in Barcelona in a 911 GT2

Only won by around 2 or 3 seconds, and only got the lead after some lucky swerving to avoid a big pile-up off the start line, ran in 4th for a lap or 2, got up to 2nd and followed a Lambo for a lap until it ran wide, and then made it to the end, keeping the lead, even after a couple of spins and a few wide corners.

But, hey, a win is a win

Your first win is always really special.
I remember my first win in Oschersleben in the Lister storm battling with a lambo and a saleen for last 10 laps of 18 lap race.

Races like that are what GTR online is all about.
I bet your heart was pumping and corners that you have taken 1,000 of times seemed so much more difficuly once you took the lead,especially the final lap

Yep, in my last 2 laps I lost over 37 seconds of my lead, seemed to keep drifting wide at nearly every corner.. even the very last corner, I went way wide onto the grass/sand and just made it over the finish line with a saleen closing in my mirrors like I was stopped !

I think the fact that its other people you 're racing against makes it so much more real. I've rarely seen the AI make enough errors to allow you get the lead, but if you can manage to stay close enough to another real live driver, for long enough, they seem to lose a bit of concentration and eventaully make a mistake.
I know I've done that myself .. I even allowed myself to be passed, thinking I was being lapped, only to find I'd dropped a position ! .. I actually though I was running last !

I did a race in sweden (first time on that track !) in monsoon conditions, which was like driving on ice. Really makes you concentrate on smooth driving.

Closest racing I've been in was a totally lotus race at barcelona. Those cars just stick to the road like glue, so its hard to get offline.
I only joined it by mistake .. clicked on the wrong server from the lobby, but thought .. sure what the hell, give it a go.

I havent tried any of the other setups, just been tweaking my own, without much success !
I've been softening the front end, hoping to get better turn-in, but apart from that I'm lost in the setups.

I finally managed to get a few green's in gtrank

Yeah .. I got rammed during the formation lap in one of my recent races, with damage, started from the pitlane, and still managed to get up to around 5th or 6th .. at least I wasnt last !
