Hmm, normal stuff like tire iron, spare tire, some tools along with a bottle of water, jump leads, some bulbs, fuses and last but not least a fire extinguisher.

(Oh and that dead body I haven't been able to dump yet).

space-saver spare tyre, old tyre with a 5 inch nail through the sidewall that i've been meaning to take to a place to get a second opinion on whether or not it's repairable :), cranium boardgame, toolbox, some helium balloons :O, and i think that's it.

Interesting thread, but it's just going to turn into one of those ones where everyone posts their own and doesn't care about anyone else's (like "what tune are you listening to now").

Ditto, save it is a full sized, original spare that came with the car, probably got 20 miles on it, still has those little molding "threads" sticking out of the rubber.
A quart of engine oil, pair of workgloves and some safety flares.

And the dead body, was going to toss it in a lake, but it helps keep the back end of the car down, and is maintenance free, so I let it there. Might move it to the passenger seat, that way I could drive in the car pool lane, but he is not great company..... a bit stiff and crusty in character.

    Normally:
    3 litres of LHM
    1 socket set
    1 set of spanners
    1 set of jump leads
    1 can of WD40
    1 litre of engine oil
    Assorted bulbs, fuses, etc
    Multimeter
    Some electrical cable
    A first aid kit
    3 litres of water

    This week
    1 new steering rack
    1 steering relay
    2 track rods
    2 sets of brake shoes
2 wings mirrors (for some now forgotten reason)
    1 torque wrench

My spare is under the bonnet.

    Why do you ask?

I cleaned mine out recently, so apart from the spare tyre and toolkit, I've a cd changer and an ice scraper.. the latter of which I've yet to use! I did have a whole bunch of horseriding gear in there too before I cleared it out. Now it just smells of horsesh*t... :(

Gods, I couldn't have all that crap in my boot. The motoring stuff I can understand, but the junk would drive me nuts. If it wasn't for the fact I'm moving at the moment, all you'd find in mine is a few motoring bits and pieces and... nothing else.

Heh, Cranium is a great game like pictionary, except you do all sorts of different things besides just drawing (charades, moulding stuff from clay, regular trivia Qs, etc.). See www.cranium.com

The helium balloons are ballast, to keep the rear end off the ground, so i can drift round bends.
Except that's a lie. They're left over after i tied a shed-load of balloons to the car for my wife on valentines day ;) Dunno how many accidents that caused on Interstate-35! At the end of the trip, there were only two left!
I wonder if they increase my fuel economy by reducing the car's weight :O

    Spare wheel and associated jack
    A small toolbox
A wee assortment box of bulbs
A big rag to wipe meh hands in case I've to get dirty!
    WD40
    Back to Black
Son of a Gun Interior polish
    Small first-aid kit

I had much much more in the boot, but I raided it out before the NCT. One thing I do need is a fire extinguisher (c'mon Lidl)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,402 ✭✭✭highdef

Spare wheel and CD changer which are part of the spec of the car so I shouldn't really count them. In that case, a large umbrella. I don't even know why I have an umbrella there. I store it there and take it to work with me when I am working early's (I use public transport when working early's). When I get back home, I throw it in the boot. So if I were to keep the umbrella in the porch, I would have a massive empty and stangely clean boot. Oh actually, just remembered that I have one of those 12V electric pumps for punctures and a 5,000,000 candle power torch - Yes, it's bright!!!

Absolutely sweet FA in both cars (save for the OEM pancake and tool/jack set). Call me deranged, but I like a spotless, empty boot... So there ;)

OMG - theres absolutely NO ROOM for your shopping! And you can't see out the back window either! And where do the kids sit? Oh dear, thats very strange....

In my boot there is currently a pair of sprayguns, a trolley jack, a timing strobe, toolbox, first aid kit, 30m rope, ratchet straps, axle stands, and assorted boots and jackets. (Theres an old pair of Snickers trousers that I set on fire while angle-grinding a rusty boat-trailer last week - the hair on my left leg is gone too...)

I've a water leak in the boot, and the rear window washer jet in mysteriously not working. Hence the leak.

    Cd changer
    Tow rope
One of those rain bag/jackets that Meteor give away at Oxegen every year.
    Some tools.

Oh it's a foreign car, the reg is D3413R and there's a big sticker on the back window that says I DEAL DRUGS AND DRIVE VERY FAST IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS WHILE DRUNK, you'll also notice smoke billowing out the windows and occasionaly hear some evil laughter from inside.

Root out the boring sh1t and this is one funny thread.... Or is it that I'm drunk (and could end up in the boot meself :o )
