“There is motherly and sisterly love, man and woman love, but no love is stronger than Stone Love...”

With her latest album, Stone Love, her most accomplished work to date, ANGIE STONE is ready to join the pantheon of sassy soul sisters that includes Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle and Betty Wright.

In the ever-changing universe of contemporary music, there are very few artists who have remained as creatively consistent as singer, songwriter, producer and actress Angie Stone.

Whether belting out tunes on Broadway (most recently she appeared as Big Mama Morton in the Tony Award winning production of Chicago) or crafting new songs on the tour bus, Angie Stone fiercely manages to bring real soul to the table.

After having a Number One single ‘No More Rain (In This Cloud)’ on her 1999 debut album, ‘Black Diamond' and selling over 1.2 million records worldwide with her second, ‘Mahogany Soul’ (2001), the macktress is back, and she’s out to get the man…

ANGIE STONE brings her full Live band to Ireland for a hugely-anticipated date at The Oympia this Thursday, April 7th.

Last summer saw her follow the success of her ‘Black Diamond’ and ‘Mahogany Soul’ albums with the release of ‘Stone Love’ which includes her ‘I Wanna Thank Ya’ collaboration featuring Snoop Dogg.

‘U’Haul’ from the album earned Angie a well-deserved Grammy nomination for Best Female R & B Vocal Performance.

Along with tracks from Stone Love, expect to hear the likes of Angie’s massive anthem, ‘Wish I Didn’t Miss You’, the brilliant ‘Brotha’, ‘Life Story’, ‘Everyday’, ‘No More Rain’, ‘U Make My Sun Shine’ (her collaboration with Prince), along with some special surprises on the night.

    Doors open 7.30pm.

LAURA ISIBOR is warming up on Thursday night.
    On-stage around 8.00pm.

    Here's the blurb...

Having opened for soul sensation ANGIE STONE at Vicar St back in July '04, Ireland's own sensation, 17 year-old LAURA ISIBOR has been invited to return to perform at Angie's date at The Olympia Theatre this Thursday, April 7th.

Already twice-nominated for a Meteor Music Award, Laura has been working on her debut album for Jive Records USA after signing to the label in October of last year. The label is also home to Britney, Justin Timberlake, and Ciara (see-are-a).

Laura has also previously been invited to open for the likes of ‘The Godfather of Soul’ James Brown, Terry Callier, and Jamie Cullum.

Laura was first introduced to the piano at 13 years old. In February of 2003, at the tender age of 15 she entered, and subsequently won, Ireland's national and prestigious 2FM Song Contest.

Listening to her playing piano it becomes clear why people are starting to draw stylistic comparisons to legendary seminal soul singer Candi Staton, early Aretha Franklin and contemporaries such as Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, and the lady she will open for this Thursday night, Angie Stone.
