Buying a laptop in the states

    Any recommendations? Min spec would really be 512-1gb ram, Pentium-M, and a non-intel (i.e. integrated) graphics, preferably with vertex shaders (for longhorn support).

    Price wise, anything under $2000, with cheaper being better. What brands are reliable? I keep away from Dell for desktops, but are they reliable for laptops? How about Sony, Tosh, HP, IBM(lenovo)?

    Btw: 1 tip is to make sure you get warranty.

    its for someone in the states, i.e. not for me, in other words, what laptop would people get, if they could get one from the states, no strings attached :)
