About mid day I started to get bad pings. Bad pings to Irish servers bad pings to UK servers.

Here is summary of ping to IOL Name server.
    Ping statistics for 192.111.39.1:

    Packets: Sent = 100, Received = 100, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

    Minimum = 77ms, Maximum = 257ms, Average = 131ms

131ms before it was 27ms. I really really really hope this is just teething problems because I want to be able to game and with pings like that it's impossible...

Can people post ping results here just to compare,

    Cheers

    X

Well I worried that this would be the case,,, whenever upgrades occur they are never seamless...

Great Sunday evening I'll have!!! This is what I've been waiting for for weeks, the prospect of 2mb connection. Now it's here I'm starting to wish it wasn't...

I hope it's just teething probs...
    I really hope.

I was having exactly the same problem, really crappy pings (+- 150 to jolt) on IOLBB, until I rebooted my modem (its an alcatel speedtouch). Fixed the problem immediately for me, I'm back to 35 ms to jolt now.

Since there was no change in upload, you should notice no difference. Unless some other factors changed besides the actual speed of your connection.

In fairness you could give them at least a day to sort it out..
the entire broadband availing country most likely just jumped on to download everything on the internet..

hmmm, still having problems: the reboot seems to solve temporarily... in fact very temporarily. When it restarts I have normal pings for a few seconds, and then it rapidly degenerates to nothing: my download speed is approximately 100kbps at the mo :(

IOL in Carlow here - pings were fine earlier on, but for the past couple of hours they've been ****e, in the region of 150-250ms. Tried restarting modem - no difference.

I'd say the problem is pretty widespread: I'm in Bray.
