The Trinity booksale is on this week - Thurs 7th through Saturday. Prob the best value booksale in the country. Don't forget half-price Saturday!

Think i got about 60 books last year after making the mistake of turning up at the Thursday launch wine reception after having a few drinks beforehand. Bought some crazy stuff (including, but not limited to, an entire set of Enid Blyton's Famous Five books! Why? Haven't a clue!)

    Where's it on?
I'd imagine some big hall type place. (Exam Hall?)

Exam Hall, if you're going on Thursday, just look out for the long queue across Front Square....

I never emerge with anything left in my wallet. And one year I bought a table of leftovers in Saturday's clearance auction...hmmm.
The 16th Trinity Secondhand Booksale will commence on Thursday 7th April at 5.30pm in the Exam Hall, Front Square (Admission €3.00). An auction of rare books will be held that evening at 7.00pm. The sale continues on Friday from 10.00 to 6.00pm (Admission free) and on Half Price Saturday from 10.00am to 2.00pm. A clearance auction will be held at 2.15pm, everything must go.

    Thanks Daithi, clears that up.
But what with that and ball tickets, looks like a poverty stricken term for me.

If you're going, bring bags. Lots of them. Although, there's always a good few cardboard boxes lying around. And cash as credit cards, cheques and IOUs are not accepted.

I've seen some very strange things at this sale. Last year there were some picture books that really pushed that fine line between artistic and arousing...more disturbing was watching one of my lecturers flick through it.

Went in yesterday and found a 1965 Cambridge Student's Handbook... Tis an interesting read... Will probably sell it on Ebay when I'm finished with it... I'm sure to make more than the 10 cents I paid for it. :)

were you the person who bought the middle table of paperbacks in the clearance auction? damn - i wanted those - ended up with about 50 Barbara f**king Taylor Bradfords in my lot of books. Didn't think it would be polite to leave them behind...

Any unwanted book sale trophies can always be dropped into the charity shop of your choice, the oxfam one on Parliament Street specialises in books.

    /end do gooding

    /begin moaning

i missed the sale this year!
