    Hi

I'm sure this has been asked swhere. But the search didn't give me good answers... I have few PCs connected to a cable router/switch (it is Dlink DI-604) and now a friend with a laptop wants to connect wirelessly... I can't be bother to replace this Dlink, i'm too lazy to put the port forwarding settings,etc... so what exactly the gear that i need to give wireless capibility to our network... i am looking for something that just plug in into one port of this Dlink and there you go... wireless... don't bash me for this laziness... ehehehe :D

I was just going to ask about this
Got bb last week on free trial from ewircom and got the 4 port router
Now, thing is, I want to set it up wirelessly
I already have another pC and a laptop sharing the Internet connection on this PC wirelessly, but I want to have it set up that this PC doesnt need to be on

I THOUGHT i needed a wireless router, but it seems, I also need a modem??? Or does the cable from the phone socket go directly into the router?

what you want is a wireless access point. you can get one that you can just plug in to your router. shouldnt cost more than €60.

All you both of you need is a Wireless Access point, plug it into one of the ethernet ports and Bob's your Aunt.

Wolfman - what you need is a wireless router with a dsl modem built in. Thats what i use at home :). That will plug straight in to your phone socket

Wireless router - will do everything a normal router does (assign ip addresss etc) and a wireless signal

Wireless Accesss Point - Just adds wireless capability to your network, doesnt do the other stuff

Yes and the only reason your getting a Wi FI AP is because you already got a Router. So basically Router connects to ethernet switch, WiFI AP connects to Switch, all on same IP Range/Subnet and Wireless users will connect to wi ap and enter the wired network and go out through the default gatway -> (YOUR ROUTER)
