    Show desktop is easy:

    In C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch or whatever dir you want it, make an empty text file.

    Add the following:
    [Shell]
    Command=
    IconFile=explorer.exe,3
    [Taskbar]
    Command=ToggleDesktop

    and save it as "ShowDesktop.SCF". Couldn't be simpler. smile.gif

    I have a shutdown icon on my desktop.

    Without understanding how it works,
    The icons target is this;

    C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL.EXE user.exe,exitwindows

    as user.exe and rundll.exe would appear to be common to all pc's with windows installed maybe it will work. But as this is complete guesswork, it may not.

    Yeah, then copy it to your desktop and whenever you want to use it, double click it!

    Yeah, and why have a "Shutdown" shortcut, but no "Startup" shortcut?
