Hi everyone i used to make latex weapons and do live role playing when i was younger with a few mates, but there always used to be this idea knocking around that you could go to this island for a weekend and you'ld have to live medievally and camp n stuff basically LRPG. Does this still happen?
Also as a side note, used to play baldurs gate years ago, looking for something again to ease back into. I really liked Age os empires 2 but it was a bit annoying not being able to control your army properly in a battle and general scrolling. Anything along those lines? Is warcraft any good? whats it about, parties or armies or what.
    cheers! :)

That site must rank as one of the truely most upsetting sites ever posted on these boards.

    Dear god the humanity.

The closest thing to theme park you talk about would be Renaissance Faires which seem to be mostly an american thing, although you could take a look a http://livinghistory.ie as well

thanks dudes, fraid ive been put off the idea thanks to those dodgy pictures of the fighting in the park wearing tracksuits. It just seems too cleeky to get involved at my age!Prefer a larger scale themed thing where you dont have to pretend that old lady in the way walking her dog doesnt exist!
think I'll stick to splatoon and the like. Thanks anyway lads.

LARP Ireland might not be the best place to start. Most of the properly organised rubber-sword LRP stuff happens in the UK, where it's got a pretty big following.

I'm not really a big proponent (been to one event) but take a look at the Maelstrom guys (http://www.profounddecisions.co.uk/) and the Lorien Trust (http://www.lorientrust.co.uk/).

There's also a UK rubber-sword-specific forum at http://www.pagga.com/ where you'll find plenty of like-minded folk.

Lastly, there's the "other" Irish RPG/LARP/Gaming in general forum at http://www.irishgaming.com/forum

    Nick.
