our pope? he deserves nothing, except maybe a coffin made from solid gold. I'm sure the Vatican can afford that....

So you're presuming we're all Roman Catholic here?

While I agree he should show a little respect, you should also show some common sense and not presume such things about other people.

This may be "Catholic" Ireland, but not everyone is RC.

Throwing a hissy fit won't make Truckle change the thread title. In fact it only just gives him more of a reason to do such things in the future. He obviously did it to get a laugh, or at least a reaction out of people and you're giving him that reaction.

Why not just ignore the friggin' thing if it upsets you that much?

Ok in retrospect its a bit more offensive then i had originally thought it to be and was more a knee jerk reaction to the very annoying 24-7 media coverage its getting then anything else. And yes, I know the joke was lame.

Having said that, the only reason I say this is because some people might have gotten hopes up or somesuch when they saw the thread title on the main page and came to read the thread, they are the only people I apologise too, if they exist.

Other then I reckon its a harmless (if crappy) joke.

To those that say "it might offend someone although not me", are you speaking for the offended that can't muster up the courage to chastise me themself? So far the only responses have been along the lines of "Your joke is crap" and "Oh my god somebody somewhere might possibly be offended by this".

What a PC world we live in nowadays. where people get upset because this might upset someone else they don't know.

"our pope" - he's just some geriatric CEO of a dying organisation with billions in liquid assets and a proven track record in subversion and racism.

I care more for the smail I accidentally stepped on last night, I really do.

No I am not presuming that everyone in the forum is RC, When i said "our" i was referring to all Catholics so you shouldn't presume so much.

Your effort to invoke a reaction by me by using such incitive terms as "hissy fit" is sad. If you dont agree with something say so and give an adult mature reason for doing so.

Im sure the poster didnt post to get "reactions" as you put but just for a bit of humour that i just happened to disagree with.

tbh there should be bannings all round here for personal insults and wildly off topic posts.

But then i'm just in a pissed off mood having watched my team get whipped and watching Munster go out to the weakest of the 4 semi finalists....

i dont think so. DOnt forget biartez(sp) beat lecister both home and away wasnt it?

Just because they didnt walk past munster like the other semi finalist doesnt make them the worst. They just got the hardest draw out of the other semi-finalists. I think they will beat stade france.

tbh, you are probably right. I'm probably taking too much from the SF display against a ****ing useless falcons side.
