    this may be a stupid question but here goes:
    if i was to buy a s710a(unlocked) from america would it work over here? and would i just be able to use an irish sony ericsson charger with it?

    hi, the S710a operates on these bands 850/1800/1900 MHZ, aimed at the North and Latin American markerts

    to work properly on our networks here you need a handset that supports 900 and 1800 (i.e. the S700)

    our networks use both 900 and 1800, so you get no coverage in an area covered by 900.... read this thread for some background
