Why can't I access online games?

    I want to play CD ROM games online (eg Age of Empires) but for some reason when I go to multiplayer, it won't log on. This si happening for more than one game and it worked last night.
    We installed Norton Antivirus though last night so this may have something to do with it.
    Can anybody help?

    did you install a firewall?

    this would block the games from connecting to the internet.

    Yea it could be your firewall (Zone alarm/ Norton internet security / Windows firewall). It could also be the settings on your router/firewall :) Check you manual for your router if your using one, you may need to specify some of the ports that you want to use.

    Are you getting any error messages, or anything that we could use as a starting point? Timing out? Host not found? Betty doesn't want to play today?
