keyboard problem

    i have a problem with my keyboard in that everytime i switch on the pc,if i dont touch the keys on the keyboard,everything will work fine.but if i hit any keys the pc will freeze completly

    i had no problems until yesterday,does anybody think its a keyboard problem or think a virus.

    just wanna know before i reinstall xp.system restort dosent work.virus scan dosent show up anything[norton 03]

    make sure the keyboard is plugged in ok, scan for viruses again if u can.

    ah ye checked that,on the BIOS set up number lock,scroll lock and caps lock lights will go on and off,but after i get 2 the log in screen,if any buttons r pressed then everything freezes.
    im using d on screen keyboard[though stuff typin] im downloading xtra virus removal tools as i type
