Quake 3 IR vision/NVG coding :D

im doing a quake 3 mod for my software project,i NEEd to add either Infa red vision or at least night vision,its been done in "urban terror" but i have no clue where to start,if anyone knows a link or tutorial or indeed the CODE id be delighted! :D
