Everybody knows about the raid in Artane on the brinks van. I just heard SIPTU are planning to have a meeting about how dangerous the job of security staff is. I'll give them it is a dangerous job but... If the people in question ignore the safety rules of there own job having a meeting on it is just bad PR.

If the people in question ignore the safety rules of there own job having a meeting on it is just bad PR.

Yeah, the it's dangerous, but they knew that when they took the job. They can't really complain about having to deal with criminals. That's their job.

Yeah, par for the course. An electrician may at some stage get electrocuted despite taking precautions, a lift mechanic might fall down the shaft or be crushed despite taking precautions, a soldier may be killed protecting others. You got to know what comes with the job, and none of these so far have got this bad.

Not particularly bad PR - just the Union being true to form and looking for a scapegoat to cover up the incompetence of the staff involved.
