Seal Cull in Canada

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this thread but I'd just like to express my outrage at what's happening in Canada at the moment with the expected slaughter of 320,000 seals this year.
Simply because the industry overfishes vast areas of its oceans and then must scramble to find not only a scapegoat for this, but also livelihoods for fishermen left unemployed by the resulting lack of cod, hundreds of thousands of baby seals must die. I mean, it sounds like some kind of sick joke!
Not only that, but independent tests show that 40% of the baby seals are still conscious while being skinned.
Once again I can't help but think people who buy seal-skin clothes simply for the sake of fashion are at the root of all this.

Sniff..Poor seals.I can see the governments logic-even though it's WRONG. There maybe (just for arguments sake) too many starbucks employees in the world-would you go cull them, save the trees from all their stupid cups.grrr.
