I know you can get software to anonymize your IP when surfing websites, but does it work when downloading torrents / using azureus? :confused: dave

Generally speaking such software puts you through a proxy. So you'll need one that supports tcp connections - ie a socks proxy - and a bittorrent client that supports a socks proxy (bitspirit for example). You'll be limited by the speed of the proxy though.

If you set to hide on that port yes but some torrent websites will block you.

note: dont use one specifically designed for downloading on bittorrent, because I heard some (unverified) stories that some software companies do this as a "honeypot" to catch heavy uploaders.

It hear Protowall is pretty good. There is tutorials all over the place on how to use it..
